The suspect threw a rock at the window of a gas station on the 200 block of South Third Street before walking away from the scene of the attempted break-in around 1:35 a.m. on Monday, June 6, Oxford police said.
Police believe the suspect is also linked to two arsons that occurred on South Fifth Street around the same time.
A suspect approached the porches of two different homes and set fire to a US flag, police said. The fire did not spread because a bystander noticed it and notified the homeowners, officers said.
Police are also asking residents to check their surveillance cameras for footage of the suspect.
